Ann Trow a widowed immigrant mother at 21 and new to New York went from having nothing to building one of the most successful medical practices in 19th century New York. She charged what she was worth, lived how she wanted, and refused to disappear quietly. History has tried to erase her anyway.
We're making sure her story is not forgotten.
This feature documentary will tell the story of Madame Restell, abortionist, entrepreneur, and one of the most deliberately buried women in American history. At a moment when her story has never been more urgent.
